You Gotta regatta 2021
Regatta is an annual event hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) where IUPUI students, faculty, and staff race down the canal in canoes. For this event, I had to create multiple promotional videos and a recap video for social media.
COUNT DOWN Videos
I made two different types of promotional hype videos. The first was a countdown series, and its main goal was to remind students about the event (it had not happened in two years due to COVID-19) and to generate excitement for it. The series entailed creating three short 15 second clips that feature footage from the previous Regatta. I relied heavily on the music to create a rhythm for the video because it creates a unified flow which is satisfying to the eyes and ears. This in turn, will encourage the viewer to stay engaged. These videos would be posted periodically on social media leading up to the event.
MAIN Promo
The second promotional video was longer and contained a lot more information about the event. This used a combination of past event footage and new shots. I was working with a lot of text for this video, so my challenge was to make it memorable and engaging for the viewer. I decided to incorporate a lot of animated text because it keeps the viewers eyes constantly moving around the video.

EVENT RECAP
The last video was a recap of the 2021 Regatta. I filmed the event and produced the recap video within 8 hours.
